2011 Merlot Earns Its First National Medal
November 2014 -- The American Wine Society recently released on its website the results of the 2014 Amateur Wine Competition.  Shark River Wines is pleased to announce that it was awarded three medals in this year's national competition.  Of particular note was the silver medal earned by the 2011 Merlot, which prior to this award had not medaled in a national competition.  Although described by many as an excellent wine, this Merlot has remained off the radar at the national stage.  SRW is very happy to see this great wine get the recognition it deserves.  The 2011 Primitivo and the 2012 Syrah were also winners, bringing home bronze medals.  Congratulations to all!

Que Syrah, Sera Silver
August 2014 -- M & M Wine Grape Company announced the results of its 2014 Amateur Wine Classic this week.  SRW is excited to report that the 2012 Syrah was awarded a silver medal.  This is the first medal for this wine as well as the first medal for the 2012 vintage.  We all hope this wine continues to mature and develop into our next gold medal.  But for now--what will be, will be SILVER.  Congratulations Shark River Wines!

And it's...GOLD, finally!

June 2014 -- The 2014 WineMaker Magazine International Amateur Wine Contest results were posted and SRW is pleased to announce that it was awarded a Gold Medal.  This annual competition is the largest wine competition of its kind in the world and has entrants from all 50 American states and 6 Canadian provinces in addition to international entries.  After three years of wining bronze and silver medals in this highly touted contest, SRW finally took home a gold medal, which is a outstanding accomplishment for the winemakers.

The 2011 Primitivo earned this top designation in the Zinfandel category among 114 other entrants.  Although honored in other contests, this vintage failed to receive any medal in this same contest in 2013.  The wine making team was proud to see this great wine develop into its first gold medal!
